a classic beauty

i was, and still am, an avid reader. i always loved a fantasy, and fell oft in love with the young girls in peril. i was on team lucy (the chronicles of narnia), team sophie (the bfg), and most of all, team ozma (the wizard of oz).

l. frank baum actually wrote an entire series based upon the trials and tribulations of dorothy. one of my favorite characters was named ozma - the elusive princess of oz! she was beautiful and intriuging and something about her has always stayed with me - i even got a large tattoo of her on my arm. (hi mom!)

her ephereal gowns and hairpieces were gorgeous - she was first introduced in 1904 - and was definitely a big nod to the art nouveau beauties of the same time. check out these amaziiiing illustrations!
